Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Gel Spray Review & Giveaway - 3 winners!

Check it Out!  I have a fabulous new product via the Purex Insiders and this is a product guaranteed to solve a problem.  Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Gel Spray is a unique gel cleaner in a spray! Tough on stains but gentle on surfaces, this is unlike other spray bleach cleaners, this is actually a gel that sticks to bathroom surfaces without those harsh bleach fumes and no over spray!

So because it is a gel and you have more control over where it goes and stays, you can use this pretty much top to bottom in the bathroom...tile, grout, tubs and showers, this is a quick and effective way to get it cleaner, especially if you have problems with mold and/or mildew.

We have this one toilet that keeps getting this moldy build-up.  I can't figure out why, I have added those blue tablets to the tank, that is why the water is blue, but it keeps coming back.  Not only is it gross but it stains.  So as soon as I got this mold and mildew cleaner I knew this would be the first test for it.  You can't see the gel in the photo above but it did a great job and it removed the ring that was there as well.

I really like the smell but the ease of it being in a spray bottle is the best!  I like that the product doesn't run like a traditional liquid would and it stays in the area I want it to.  I love Soft Scrub products and this one is a great addition to the family.

You can GO HERE and enter to win $1,000 plus free soft scrub for 250 winners in the Say Goodbye to Mold & Mildew Stains Sweepstakes.  And of course thanks to Purex and Soft Scrub I get to give 3 lucky Check it Out! with Dawn readers a Free bottle!  Just enter via the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win.

*I received the product in this post compliments of Purex and Soft Scrub for purposes of this post, however all opinions are my own.

Tuesday's Tip - Making your patio tablecloth a custom fit

Check it Out!  It's springtime and if your like my family, time to spend time outdoors.  One of our favorite things to do is eat outside together.  If you use an umbrella on your table then you know you gotta have a hole in the center of your tablecloth to allow for it.  Yes you can buy them with holes but here is a tip on making your own, much cheaper!  I picked up a couple of vinyl with cloth backed tablecloths at Anna's for $2.50 each.  I do this because I can get a more custom size.  My table needs a 52" x 70" oblong size.

It is super simple to cut a hole in the center without having to cut the cloth into... just fold the cloth together long ways and then the other way, making sure your corners line up well.

So on the inside corner edge you will cut out a half circle shape.  I made mine larger than it really needs to be, so always cut less than more, you can always cut more if it's not big enough.

Now just open it up and place it on the table and then add your umbrella.

You can also use a placemat and cut the center from it to make like a frame around the pole!  Use coordinating patterns for a festive look!   So now I need to make sure it doesn't fly up and around so I use some simple binder clips that I found in red and clearanced at Staples!

Just fold up the corner, kinda like a package...

And tuck the edges under the table.  My table has a little lip on the edge.

Simply attach the binder clip and flip back the tabs so they aren't hanging done.  I put 2 on each side of the table and I have one secure custom fitted table cloth.

Make it Monday - Custom desk set

Check it Out!  I have been trying to figure out how I wanted to organize our homeschool stuff and since my kids are older, I could actually go with a look that wasn't all red/yellow/blue schoolhouse!
During a recent trip to Goodwill, I struck gold and picked up a slew of office supply items for a steal!  I found these 4 paper trays that were only $0.77 for a 2 pack.

Now of course one of the drawbacks of buying used is things don't always match and of course I had 1 oddball tray.  Since I had already created my custom framed chalkboard, I thought why not complete the theme.  So using the same scrapbook paper as I used for the chalkboard, you can check that out HERE, I just cut some rectangles that fit in the sides.

I used double sided tape because I want to be able to change the paper out and it works great. Just a couple of pieces and taadaa!

Much better looking!  I also bought a great incline file sorter for $1.41.

By just turning the sorter over and tracing the shape, I got a perfect pattern for the front.  Using the same double sided tape, I applied it to the front panel.

Now that looks like it cost way more than $1.44!  Since I keep a pencil cup, or a pickle jar next to the school stuff, I figured it needed to fit in as well, so it got a little love as well!

So for about $2.97, I have a cute matching set! Here is how it all looks on the table.

And here is how the whole set up looks with the chalkboard as well.

Book Review: The Harvest by Clint Morey

The Harvest
by:  Clint Morey

Check it Out!  I have never really been much of a sci-fi reader but have been checkin' it out more and more, I mean, all of my kids love sci-fi so I need to be "with it" too.  But I love thrillers so when I recently got the opportunity to check out "The Harvest" by Clint Morey via Tomoson, I applied.  I received a Kindle Edition of this book and it only took me about 2 days to finish it.
So imagine a future where "mutants" are "created" to provide organ donations to humans.  Created to feel no pain they are taught "humans love me.  I love humans" so they maintain healthy bodies,  all for the purpose of "harvesting" their organs when the humans need them.
Steph Martin is a mutant, but she is a defect and an early model so she has a job as a counselor.   She prepares the mutants for their extractions, for their gift to human life.  Cody Rodgers is a Deputy Sheriff with a longing to be the new Sheriff.  With an impending election on his mind he has to investigate an incident at the local "facility", which is just one among many in the world.  While he is there, a mutant attacks, escapes and creates a world changing problem when he returns to the facility and frees the other mutants.  Together Steph and Cody have to escape the facility while also saving the lives of others.
Of course there is a bond between Steph and Cody, but during this action packed escape adventure     Cody realizes that Steph is a mutant.  He also realizes he doesn't care and will do anything to keep her alive.  There is quite a lot of violence but you've got mutants attacking and you will quickly find out, telling the humans and the mutants apart is part of the challenge.
I really like the characters and it's a well laid out plot and storyline that left me wanting to know more, what's next and when is the next book?  2 thumbs up!

*I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Book Review: The One Year Father Daughter Devotions by Jesse Florea, Loen C. Wirth & Bob Smithouser

The One Year Father Daughter Devotions
by:  Jesse Florea, Leon C. Wirth and Bob Smithouser

Check it Out!  Having a 13 year old who has gone through some major changes in her life and had to deal with many things most 13 year olds don't have to can be a real challenge.  I love that girl to death, but knowing how she feels and how to react to her is such a challenge sometimes.  The stinky eye is popular these days, and with her father sick and always with her, they are clashing more and more these days.
When I got the chance to review The One Year Father Daughter Devotions book via Tyndale House I thought this might would help them to find that common bond again.  I have to admit that as of now, neither one has touched it.  Yet... but I as a mother found a few things that I did really like
This is a book that fathers and daughters would want to start in that pre-teen age range, 9 or 10 depending on the maturity of the child.  I like the Father- Daughter Movie Night Appendix that includes 15 G or PG rated movies that would be great for those date nights.  It's kind of a cheat sheet for dad, it has all the info he needs to be able to not really have to watch the movie but know what it's about and how to carry on a conversation with his daughter and maybe even ask some of the questions provided.  I also liked that even though it is dated, you could just open it up and pick out a day/date idea.    There is also a great little section at the end is kind of a daddy/daughter date introduction for dads that may not have tried it before.  Overall I would recommend this as a great tool to bring a Father and Daughter and God together.

*I received the book in this post compliments of Tyndale House Publishers for purposes of this review, however all opinions are my own.

Don't have the software? You can purchase the My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Software and get a great deal on it right here at Check it Out! with Dawn! When you use code: STMMMS78766 you will get $10 off your purchase plus a $10 credit towards purchases in the My Memories store.
You can now access the freebies through the store, instead of as a direct download. This means that if you ever buy a new computer, your computer crashes, or you accidentally delete a file, you will be able to access it in your My Downloads section of your MyMemories Account. This means you will need to have to a MyMemories account to access the downloads but don't worry, accounts are always free.

TIP:
You can right-click on the white guide and lock it in place to keep it from moving while you are working. Make sure this is the top layer of your project before printing.
Instead of adding the paper as a background paper, you can add it as an embellishment so that you can move the paper around. This is especially useful when using papers with stripes or circles, so you can decide which part of the paper you want to use.
Once it is added as an embellishment, you can now select the paper and move it into the position you want it.
Just SAVE and PRINT on cardstock. Fold it up following the lines to create your photobox.
Check out this Video Tutorial that shows you how you can use outside content with your My Memories Suite Software and see how easy and versatile this scrapbooking software is!

My Pups Paradise @Cravebox

Check it Out!  It's been a bit since I have received a new Cravebox, there just hasn't been anything that I was interested in until the previously presented Pups Paradise Cravebox became available again for a limited time.  I snagged one up since they were being offered as Instant boxes.  With Instant boxes there are no drawings and waiting, if you see it listed buy it before it is gone.
Ellie knew this box was for her the minute I set it down!  As soon as it was open, she was the first to get inside it!

This box only cost $13 and it was full of great doggie stuff!  Here are the products that were inside...

Fido's Cookies
Sells for about $4.00 for the individual bone
A pretty big bone shaped cookie with a frosting of some sort.  Ellie wouldn't eat it until we broke it up into smaller pieces.  She did love the smell but wasn't super eager to eat it.

Merrick Grain Free Dry Dog Food
*Real Duck + Sweet Potato Recipe
*Real Chicken + Sweet Potato Recipe
Sells for about $15 a 4 lb. bag

Merrick Bandana
Cute, but not really Ellie's color.

Kong Chewy Treats Meat Stix
Sells for about $6.00 a 6.5 oz bag
These are specially shaped meat stix that fit inside Kong treat toys and also are perfect for training.

TropiClean Fresh Breath Clean Teeth Gel
Sells for $10.99
Ellie let me put it on her teeth and licked a little, didn't notice much a difference the first time, so we will see over time.  She has good teeth now,so this should help maintain them and get rid of any new tartar.

The Original Pet Bowl Mat
Sell for $4.99
This is a super absorbency, machine washable, microfiber pet mat that has anti-skid bumps to keep the mat in place and will hold 4 times its weight in water.
Within 2 hours of putting this on the floor with Ellie's water and food bowls, the kids knocked the bowl and almost all of the water spilled out and this mat absorbed it all, the floor was dry and all I had to do was throw it in the wash!  Love it!

So that is the Pups Paradise Cravebox.  Cost me $13 and I got about $25 worth of products so I am happy not only with the price but the variety of products.  Ellie is too!

*I received no compensation for this post and all opinions are my own.

My #CottonelleCleanCrew Sample & Share via @Crowdtappers

Check it Out!  As a Crowdtapper I get in on some great sample & shares and I recently got to join the #CottonelleCleanCrew and got this fantastic package via Cottonelle and Crowdtap.
Not a member of Crowdtap yet?  You can check it out and GO HERE to sign up to get in on some great opportunities!

In my sample & share kit, I received
  • 1 - 12 pack of Cottonelle Clean Care Toilet Paper
  • 2 - 4 pack of Cottonelle Clean Care Toilet Paper
  • 3 - Tubs of Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Wipes
So I had to choose 2 friends with whom I would share my samples.  I chose Ms. Renee because she is a fellow blogger and a close friend that loves samples

And I shared with my mom, who not only loves freebies but really needed these!

As you can see both of my friends loved their samples and hopefully they will share their experiences with the products as well.
I personally have been a Cottonelle fan for a while.  I love the softness and the fact that they are reasonalbly priced compared to other leading brands.

Just look at the difference in another leading brand on the left and cottonelle on the right.  The Cottonelle is quilted all throughout not just in spots and when combined with the Fresh care wipes, you have an amazingly clean routine!!
Check out Cottonelle.com to get coupons, more info and test your cleaning logic!  Don't forget to enter the $10,000 Bathroom Makeover Sweepstakes while your there!

OraMD - The Mouth Doctor Review & Giveaway 3 winners! (closed)

Check it Out!  Oral hygiene and kids... you know, it can be a challenge to keep those mouths clean and cavity free, especially with a strong willed child.  I personally have 1 child that hates the dentist and has since she was little, 1 who needs braces cause he's got a mouth full of crowded in teeth and the other one has a steel jaw and none of them will let me near their mouths at this age!  Yeah at 13, 14 and 15, they are in control of their mouths now, which I will admit, leaves me a little worried.  However, I recently got the opportunity to try a 100% pure natural oral care product called OraMD:  The Mouth Doctor via www.trustedhealthproducts.com that could really help me out.

I know, this doesn't look like an ordinary toothpaste or even mouthwash, but that is because it is a revolutionary 3 in 1 oral care product!  You get toothpaste, mouthwash and breath freshener all in one bottle!  Made from 100% pure botanical oils like peppermint, spearmint and almond oil, OraMD kills 22 harmful bacteria that can lead to bigger problems like gum disease.

Okay I am gonna be totally honest, I was skeptical, especially when I saw the little bottle and realized that you don't use it with toothpaste. Hubby was actually the first to try it and after his initial reaction, I was more intrigued to give it a try myself.
I must say that this is one amazingly different product.  It is strong when you first use it, not bad but bold.  Once you get past the bold taste, which by the way subsides as you use it, adjusting to not having that paste and bubbles and foam is a little strange, but I found I could feel where the product was going.  Because it is an oil, it just seeps into all those cracks and crevices in the teeth and I actually felt liked I had flossed before I had flossed.  As the days go on and I continue to use it, my mouth feels better all around.  My gums are pinker and healthier and my mouth doesn't get dried out.

The bottle contains approximately 400 drops which would last about 4 weeks when you use 4 drops a day, 2 in the am and 2 in the pm.  Now because you can also use this as a breath freshener during the day, you may use more than that and I could honestly see how some people would just carry a bottle with them!
The bottle has a special insert that makes it easy to use, just drip out your drops!

I am working on getting the kids to use it and I figure I will have them use it as a breath freshener at first to get past the bold taste and then start brushing with it.  I figure they waste the toothpaste that they do use, I find so much in the sink and drain, I have to wonder do they use it at all, so it should be easy to adjust to and the benefits are going to last them a lifetime if they maintain the routine themselves.
The clean feeling that I and my hubby got from OraMD lasts too, I found that I still had a fresh mouth and could actually still taste the mint after drinking a cup of coffee.  I can't wait to see what the dentist says on my next visit.  I always get scolded for not getting my back teeth and the insides of my front teeth cleaner, and I truly feel OraMD has made them healthier and helped me get them cleaner!
You can head over to the Trusted Health Products site and get more info on OraMD:  The Mouth Doctor as well as their other products.  Be sure and check out and like their Facebook page HERE as well.

The manufacturer has offered Check it Out! with Dawn readers an introductory offer of a Free bottle of OraMD when you pay a minimal shipping and handling charge.  They will also include their 2 eye-opening reports:
  • "The 6 Hidden Dangers in Toothpaste"
  • "Why the FDA Requires A Warning Label On Your Toothpaste"
That is a $40 total value!  You can Click here to get your FREE bottle and FREE reports now.

I am excited that the manufacturer also has agreed to give 3 lucky Check it Out! with Dawn readers their very own bottle, completely free!  Enter via the Rafflecopter form below.  Giveaway open to US and Canada residents only.

*I received the product in this post compliments of the manufacturer for purposes of this post, however all opinions are my own.

Tuesdays Tip - Using your samples as useful decorations

Check it Out!  Having spent around 6 months in a hotel, I have amassed quite a little collection of mini soaps, lotions, shampoos, etc...  I decided I didn't just want to throw them in the closet as they can be very useful!  So I picked up this great glass container at Ross for about $6 and just dumped in the samples and put it on the kids bathroom counter.

So whether the kids run out of something or we have company that needs something, there is plenty in that jar to get us through!
You could do the same thing with food samples as well.  Got alot of coffee samples, stick them in a pretty urn and display them on the counter.  Put your stock of snack bars in a bowl on the table.  This would also be great for your spare room, have company coming?  Stick a basket with all kinds of samples in it in the room for your guests to enjoy.
