Product Review: #IckyStick Toilet Ring Remover

Check it Out!  One of the things I hate most in life is cleaning bathrooms.  Specifically the toilets.  I despise cleaning toilets and having an older home with all it's original appliances and fixtures I have really old toilets.  Yeah, I know it's not something that we really want to talk about but it is something we really have to do, unless you have a maid! lol  

I recently got a new product called the Icky Stick to review via http://www.groomindustries.com/ and it is making getting my old toilets looking better much easier.  

The Icky Stick is 100% natural pumice on a stick!  It works on rust, hard water, calcium and/or mildew rings around the toilet.  Instead of chemicals here is an all natural alternative to gently scrub away stains.  The Icky Stick works on porcelain, pools and hot tubs too.  

So I have 3 toilets in my home, but only 2 that we use.  The other one is in an unfinished bathroom that the previous owners out in this home.  One day I hope to finish it, but not gonna happen any time soon.  Of course being old both of my toilets have stains that have been there for years.  The guest bathroom is the worst and I have tried everything from soft scrub to bleach and I can't get them completely clean.  After trying the Icky Stick, I have to say that it looks marginally better.  Not completely white yet, but that is because I just haven't put in the work.  I used up the first half of my Icky Stick working on it and removed a  great deal of the stains but I need to spend a little more time on it to get the rest off.  Above is the before and after of that toilet.  Before on the left and after on the right.

 I found this product really easy to use and quite effective.  I plan to spend some more time later working on the rest of the stains and can foresee this toilet looking great!

@Purex Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover Review & Giveaway

Check it Out!  I have another fab product from Purex to share with ya'll, Fels- Natptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover.  I have never used a laundry bar before so I was super intrigued and couldn't wait to give it a try.  
Purex Fels-Naptha is a laundry bat that works to remove your toughest stains, whether it's dirt, grease or even ring around the collar, this bar can handle the mess!  Even though this stain remover bar has been around for over 100 years, I have never heard of it.

I know it's hard to see in the photo above, but this cute white shirt has dirt stains around the collar as well as the bottom hems and on the mid section area...I wore it while mowing the lawn...I know, why?  But I did and I was left with some grass stains as well as the dirt.  I really like how easy the bar is to use, just simply run the stain with the corner of the bar, you do have to wet it first, but just the corner your using so it is mess free as well.  I like that the Purex Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar is safe on colors as well.

So above is the same shirt after washing.  I have to say, it looks even whiter than it was before wearing it and there isn't a stain of any sort in sight!  I think it was super effective and I now know I have a big dog when it comes to tackling stains.  

I also know that this bar has other uses, I have seen online where people are making their own laundry detergent with the Purex Laundry Bar and I think that is awesome!  I may be trying that in the future!

MAS Color Laundry Detergent Coupon Giveaway & Sweepstakes

Check it Out!  Happy Mothers Day to all you moms out there!  Especially my own!  After 15 years  of being a mom myself, I think I finally understand my mom and her struggles, worries and challenges as my parent.  I have an overflowing amount of gratitude, understanding and love for her.
My mom was a single mom most of my childhood, so she worked hard to keep a roof over our heads and food on our table.  She worked a lot but she was always there when I needed her.  Band concerts, cheerleading, what ever I decided to do, she supported me.  All these years she has continued her support and after losing both of my siblings, her and I are very close.  I am her only child left and I can't imagine the heartache that she feels everyday due to the loss of 2 children.  My wish is to make life easier for her, to ease some of her pain.  
I want to thank my mom for teaching me all the things I needed to know to be a good mom, like laundry!  Ya never realize how important a skill it is, until you have to do it every day, all day!
So speaking of laundry, I got the opportunity via Purex Insiders to try a new concentrated detergent product out, and you know me, I am always doing laundry so I can always use some laundry detergent.  

What excited me about trying out MAS Color Laundry Detergent is that it is designed to help protect and renew colors.  I have teens who love colored and dark clothes so I really need help to prevent clothes from fading so much.  Some of these clothes seem to just fade more than others so having a color detergent is helpful.  

MAS is a widely popular in Mexico and is now available in the US at Walmart.  MAS is available in two different types, MAS Color and MAS Oscura.  I found it at Walmart, but it wasn't located in with all the other liquid laundry detergent products, but further past the powders.  

I used MAS on about 3 loads of colors as well as darks and it worked really well.  No fading at all and it left my clothes smelling good.  I would use it again, and especially if I could snag a great deal on it.

Check it Out!  I have a fabulous new product via the Purex Insiders and this is a product guaranteed to solve a problem.  Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Gel Spray is a unique gel cleaner in a spray! Tough on stains but gentle on surfaces, this is unlike other spray bleach cleaners, this is actually a gel that sticks to bathroom surfaces without those harsh bleach fumes and no over spray!

So because it is a gel and you have more control over where it goes and stays, you can use this pretty much top to bottom in the bathroom...tile, grout, tubs and showers, this is a quick and effective way to get it cleaner, especially if you have problems with mold and/or mildew.  

We have this one toilet that keeps getting this moldy build-up.  I can't figure out why, I have added those blue tablets to the tank, that is why the water is blue, but it keeps coming back.  Not only is it gross but it stains.  So as soon as I got this mold and mildew cleaner I knew this would be the first test for it.  You can't see the gel in the photo above but it did a great job and it removed the ring that was there as well.

I really like the smell but the ease of it being in a spray bottle is the best!  I like that the product doesn't run like a traditional liquid would and it stays in the area I want it to.  I love Soft Scrub products and this one is a great addition to the family.

Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Bath & Kitchen Cleanser Review & Giveaway... 3 Winners! (closed)

Check it Out!  Since buying this old house, I have been so busy painting, fixing, decorating and especially cleaning!  It's a 30 year old house so there are quite a few problems and messes!  So when I got my latest Purex Insiders Kit, I was super excited, because inside was Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Bath & Kitchen Cleanser.  Just what I need!

I really like using Soft Scrub products because I love the tough yet gentle formula.  This new and improved formula has even more whitening power and less residue which makes for better rinsing.  

This is also an all new bottle and cap design that improves dispensing and preventing spills making it more efficient.  I really like cleansing with lemon so to have it in an all purpose cleanser is fabulous!   

I used it in my bathrooms first and I really love the job it did not only on the sink and countertops but my toilets as well!  I know it's not really for that, but it works great!  I really like that this cleaner has scrubbing power but is really very gentle.  Rinses away easily with no gritty build up as well.

I also used my Soft Scrub Total All Purpose in the kitchen.  Having just scraped 3 layers of wallpaper off the wall which led to fixing spots which led to lots of dust!  Yuck, that stuff can be tough to get rid of but it was no problem with the Soft Scrub Total All Purpose cleanser.  From the sink to the appliances, it took care of business and smells wonderful too!

My Holiday Spruce Up @Cravebox

 

Check it Out!  I got my newest Cravebox the other day.  This is the Holiday Spruce- Up Cravebox and it is all about the pre and post holiday clean up that of course comes with the holidays. 

This box features 6 products that pretty much cover the whole home, but it only has 4 actual products inside and 2 that are savings coupons.  This I will admit disappointed me.  I paid $13 for this box and was expecting to try actual products, not have to go out and buy them to try them.  Kinda defeats the purpose of the box.

Reinvent the way you do laundry with detergent, stain remover and brightener all in one little pac.  They work in any machine and dissolve quickly in hot and cold water.

I have used these before and if it wasn't for the cost, would use them more often.  They are convenient and work great.

One of the best stain removers for over 40 years.  Pre-treat stains and super charge your detergents cleaning power.  Eliminate stains, odors and more.

Never tried Biz detergent so I was excited to see the name, but again no actual product for me to try unless I go and buy it, so I can't give ya my opinion on it.

I have used these before as well and I really like them. No batteries or plug ins needed, just set it there. Perfect for small bathrooms and bedrooms and way better for you than those aerosol sprays.

 

So overall, I am a tiny bit disappointed in there not being 6 actual products for the price of this box, but happy with the actual products that I received and I will continue to buy Craveboxes.

Purex plus OXI Review & Giveaway

 

Check it Out! It's time to share the newest Purex product with ya! Purex Plus OXI is a new stain fighting liquid laundry detergent that has three stain fighting enzymes that work on different types of stains and can be used as a pretreater too!

 

If you've been here before, ya know I am now washing clothes at the laundromat.  I am thankful that we have one right in our hotel, down 3 floors, but in the same building!

So I lugged my new Purex plus Oxi and my Purex Crystals of course downstairs to give it a try, I had the perfect item to test it on.  My husband got himself some bandanas, he's planning ahead for the loss of his hair and of course he bought solid white ones.  Well he isn't very good at putting his things away so he left it on the dresser and I accidentally spilled some coffee on it. 

 

 

So 14 quarters and an hour an a half later, I found a wonderful looking bandanna!  I was surprised how clean and bright it was and stain free as well.  I was surprised because the coffee had dried and set for like 3 days before washed! 

 

 

I am loving the stain fighting power this Purex product has and because it is Purex I know it's not gonna break my bank!  Purex plus Oxi is an affordable and powerful product that I will be seeking out in the future.
