Childrens Book #Review #BibleBelles The Adventure of Rooney Cruz #FlyBy

*I received the product in this post for free for purposes of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Check it Out!  It's hard to find superheros that girls can be proud of.  But there is an original children's series that presents real life heroes like you have never seen before.  This series highlights five superhero women of the Bible:  Hannah, Esther, Abigail, Ruth and Deborah.
Bible Belles' The Adventure of Rooney Cruz is presenting women in the Bible in a whole new way.  Showing girls characters they can connect with, this series is all about encouraging girls to remember how special they are, to remember their names and to remember their stories.

I recently received the opportunity to review the second book in the series, Esther:The Belle of Patience.

Bible Belle's Esther: The Belle of Patience from Bible Belles on Vimeo.

This book is full of beautiful full color illustrations that bring the adventures of Rooney to life.  Learning that there is a right time for things, can be a hard lesson.  And in this story Rooney learns that the power of prayer and patience can pay off.
Follow along with Rooney as she deals with problems and finds solutions through the stories of true super hero women of the Bible.

Recently I was introduced to a new subscription box service called Loved+Blessed.  But unlike other subscription boxes, this one is all about sending a message of love, hope and blessings.

Each Loved+Blessed box contains a mini poster, a reminder sticker, a scripture card, a keepsake theme card and a special gift.  This gift can be jewelry, stationery, a journal, home decor or even a prayer accessory.  It's a surprise!

The Loved+Blessed box is a well thought out and beautiful gift that would be perfect for anyone who loves to be reminded of how blessed God wants you to feel.  Words of encouragement and beautiful images are awaiting in this box.

In my box I received a coloring card in a white frame and a box of colored pencils.  I actually love to color so this is a great little gift for me.  I love the scriptures on the cards and the little sticker that can be put in a place that will always be a reminder and a note of encouragement.

This box would make a wonderful gift for a friend or loved one that loves to get mail and loves to be encouraged.  What a beautiful thing it is to be reminded how much we are loved and cared about.

Product Review: Jesus Sees Us Doll & Picture Book #JesusSeesUs

*I received the product in this post for purposes of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Check it Out!  In my opinion, one of the most important jobs we have as parents is to make sure our children know Jesus Christ.  And I really think starting young is the best way.  However there are not really a lot of toys geared towards introducing Faith and Jesus to children.  I find that disheartening and sad.  But recently I was introduced to and offered the opportunity to share a fabulous product that offers parents an engaging and fun way to introduce Jesus and their Faith to children ages 2 - 6.  The Jesus Sees Us Doll and Picture Book.

I have seen through my own children that when they are young, they respond to the comfort of tangible items.  Blankets and dolls are typically favorites, so why not give your child a Jesus doll?  What an amazing way to foster the love of Christ!

The Jesus Sees Us doll is soft bodied with a hard molded head.  He has a loving and warm face and his arms are open and welcoming.  He looks exactly the same as he does in the accompanying picture book.  But this is not just a picture book, it's also a lesson book.   Full of wonderfully illustrated Biblical stories with scripture references and correlating lessons, this book allows children to relate and engage in new ways. The combination of lessons and the doll is a fabulous tool to have to help young children develop and keep a personal relationship with Jesus.

This product was created by two Mothers of pre-school aged children and would make an excellent Easter gift.  The perfect time of year to bring the wonders and promises of Jesus to your families life.
You can get more information on this product at www.JesusSeesUs.com and is available for purchase on the site or at Amazon HERE for the reduced price of $24.99!  You can also follow them on Facebook.

Book Review & #Giveaway: Growing Up Social by Gary Chapman & Arlene Pellicane

*I received the product in this post for purposes of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Growing Up Social
by Gary Chapman & Arlene Pellicane

About the Book:

"Is technology bringing your family closer together or driving you farther apart?

Children today are no longer playing hide-and-seek outside or curling up with a good book—instead they’ve been introduced to a world of constant digital entertainment through television, video games, and mobile devices. And while technology has the potential to add value to our lives and families, it can also erode a sense of togetherness and hinder a child’s emotional and social development.

In Growing Up Social, Gary Chapman and Arlene Pellicane will empower you with the necessary tools to make positive changes…starting today. Through stories, wit, and wisdom, you’ll discover how to take back your home from an over dependence on screens. Plus, you’ll learn to teach the five A+ skills that every healthy child needs to master: affection, appreciation, anger management, apology, and attention.

•Equip your child to be relationally rich in a digital world
•Replace mindless screen time with meaningful family time
•Establish simple boundaries that make a huge difference
•Discover what’s working for families that have become screen savvy
•Learn healthy ways to occupy your child while you get things done

Now is the time to equip your child to live with screen time, not for screen time. No phone, tablet, or gaming device can teach your child how to have healthy relationships—only you can."

My Review:
In a world where technology rules, it can be difficult to balance that time our kids spend with their devices and the time they spend without them. As a mother of 3 teeneagers, I am all to familiar with this dilemma.  I am relieved that my kids didn't grow up with so much available technology, and didn't get started with the "social" side of it until the last few years.
The book Growing Up Social is full of stories, examples and ideas on how to balance tech time with your family.  No not just the kids, you the parent as well.  This book talks about 5 healthy A+ Skills that children should master:  affection, anger management, apology, attention and appreciation.  It also addresses parental authority, security and the single parent and screen time.
I think this book would be a great read for every new parent.  It is starting earlier and earlier these days and I see babies with iPads and cell phones to keep them busy.  Having the information within this book would be invaluable for the future.  There is an awesome group discussion section in the back with questions to get the conversations started.  Great for youth groups or homeschool families.
There is also a great quiz that will let you know if your child has too much screen time.

You can get more information on Growing Up Social on their Official Websitehttp://www.5lovelanguages.com/growingupsocial And check out the Book Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-ANoYvKA1k.
