Check it Out! I have really been in the holiday decorating mood lately and while going through the containers of holiday stuff that made it out of the fire, I discovered that I had one of my swags that was bought from Michael's years ago. I always hung it in my living room, but this couldn't go inside anymore, and I don't have a place to hang it outdoors. I also found this artificial 3 foot tree and since they were in the basement and pretty much had nothing wrong with them, except for the smell, I decided that I wanted to turn that swag into a tree and use it outside on my porch.
All I had to do was "deconstruct" the swag first. I was able to pull all the decorations off, even the ribbon, pretty easily.
So once I got everything off the swag, I took a little inventory of what I had and then starting with the big bow on top, and adding the ribbon around the tree, I then worked all of the decorations in. I knew that I would be putting this in a corner on my front porch, so I focused on the front of the tree, since the back wouldn't be visible.
I only had four ornaments and 4 poinsettias so I made sure to space them out and then filled in with the rest of the pieces using hot glue.
I think it turned out great and will look awesome on my porch this year and for many years to come.
I also have that pine swag left over- you know you just may see that again! lol
Wow that's gorgeous. You did a great job!
