Check it Out! I am still trying to figure out my craft space. I know that may sound strange, but starting with nothing and working with what I could get within my budget was overwhelming and all of my aspirations and desires of a well organized, structured space, went out the window! My craft space is also our homeschool room and my office and I wanted them all to be separate but somehow that didn't work out so well.
I ended up with 2 bookcases and a desk, I wanted that desk to fit between the bookcases, but that didn't work out either so I found a rectangle card table marked down at Target that was a perfect fit and that is my main craft space. I have another table on the other side that is suppose to be for homeschool stuff, but it's full of craft stuff, but that is another project! lol
I hung a simple wooden shelf over my table but it's a little plain, so I decided to put some of these tins cans I have to good use by making some hanging organizers.
Supplies:
- Tin Cans - various sizes
- Ribbon
- Scrapbook paper
- Lace
- Glue/double stick tape
Step 1: glue/tape one end of ribbon to one side of the can
Step 2: roll can over and glue/tape other end of ribbon to opposite side of can
Step 3: measure and cut scrapbook paper to fit
Step 4: glue/tape paper onto can
Step 5: embellish as desired
Here are my cans with just my ribbon and paper on them.
And here are my decorated, finished cans. I kept it simple although I am considering adding some labels in the form of tags. We will see, but for now they are perfect for storing my pens, paintbrushes and other tools in. Now I just need to get some decent hooks to hang them from! I also decorated another can that coordinates for my desk top.
Oh I love the color selections! So creative, I love how you think! Your work space is so neat and tidy, I'd be scared for you to see mine :)
