Check it Out! I recently got the insiders chance to review the new album by Yanni, Truth of Touch! This is Yanni's first instrumental release of original compositions in over eight years and is a return to the genre Yanni helped create and advance.
“I work the rhythms in this album,” explains Yanni about the new material. “There is a beautiful complexity in these rhythms, a new sound design. I think the melodic content is very strong and very memorable. I was having fun with this album and that’s going to become apparent.”
I have to honestly say that I have never listened to Yanni before however I knew the name. When I was invited to listen I thought, hmmm, I like instrumental music but do I want to listen to a whole album of it? Well I am glad I got the opportunity to do this review because Yanni has it going on! This album has a little of it all, there are ballads but also some of the most dramatic and and edgy songs and I will say I was surprised. There were a couple of songs that I thought would make great movie themes and I could shop like the devil with "Vertigo" or "Nine" on the Ipod! Give me a nice fruity drink and "Flash of Color" to chill out with and then "Can't Wait" with some dinner, now that would be a great day! I really enjoyed this and it occurred to me that it would make great background music for homeschool. I tried classical and I just couldn't get it to stick with the kiddos, bet they would go for this!
So on March 22, Yanni launched a 40-date tour of the US. This tour will take him through theaters in major cities across the US including Radio City Music Hall in NYC and the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. You can check out the Official Yanni Website and GO HERE to view the Yanni Tour Dates and get information of purchasing tickets.
**I received information and samples via the One2One Network for purposes of this review however all opinions are my own.
