#TBCCrafters Craft Hop - Fall "Give Thanks" Basket

Check it Out!  I am still working on getting my home all festive for the Thanksgiving holiday and I needed a centerpiece for my table. I have quite a stash of fall flowers and leaves in a container and at the bottom I found these cute little pumpkins.  I remembered this beautiful golden basket I had and an idea was born!

For this project my materials included:
  • Basket
  • Assorted flower bunches
  • pine cones
  • pumpkins
  • raffia
  • moss
  • styrofoam
  • Mini Chalkboard on stand
  • Liquid Chalkers

For my Give Thanks sign I used a mini chalk board on a stand.  I removed the stick from the base and using my new Liquid Chalkers I added the words Give Thanks to my chalkboard front.  I also added a little bow to the stick.

Using my craft knife I made a slice in the top of one of my pumpkins and added my sign.

I wanted my pumpkins to sit up higher inside the basket so I added some styrofoam to the inside of the basket to fill it up. Using a hot glue gun I added moss around the outside edges allowing it to hang over my styrofoam edges and then filled in the top to completely hide the styrofoam.
Starting with my tallest flower stems, I added one to each side of the basket tucking the stems under and into the styrofoam.

Using more floral stems I filled in the rest of the basket along the edges and ends.  I stacked up my pumpkins in an arrangement I liked and glued it all in place.  I then filled in any gaps and holes with more flowers and fall leaves. I also added a little raffia.

So what do you think of my dining room so far?  You can check out how I put that Fall Candle Jar Tablescape in the background together HERE.  I have one more craft project next week goes along with those Fall Napkin Rings I made last week and that will finish off the table.  Be sure and check it out!
