#TBCCrafters Craft Hop - Ticket Shadow Box

Check it Out!  My daughter loves movies and she loves to go to the movie theater as soon as her favorite movies come out.  She has been tacking her ticket stubs up on her bulletin board to collect them so I decided that I wanted to give her a way to collect them without all the jumbled mess of tacks.
After thinking on it a few days I realized I had the perfect supplies for this project, an unfinished wooden crate and die-cut frame.  I had purchased these items a while back and as I was looking at the Framed Shadow Box I had hanging on the wall, I got the idea.  My wooden crates had slots on each end and they were perfect for inserting tickets!  I used a large clear plastic box that I had saved, (I just knew there would be a use for it) for the window of my box.

My supplies for this project includes the wooden frame, a wooden crate, a large clear piece of plastic, ticket embellishments, paint and glue dots.  I also used a hole punch for my tickets and hot glue to hold it all together.
First I painted my crate black, inside and out and painted my frame red.  It's important to let the paint dry completely.

Since I didn't have any tickets, I searched online and found a printable ticket version that was just what I wanted.  I printed out a sheet and cut out a single line and then a double line square to cover the bottom slot.  I used a hole punch to punch the holes on the corners of the tickets and used glue dots to hold a strip across the top of the rim of the crate.

To get the plastic window piece, I opened up the clear plastic box and flattened it out.  I then traced around the outside of the crate to get my size and using a ruler and x-acto knife I cut it out and placed it on top of the rim of the box using glue dots to keep it perfectly in place.

I then hot glued the frame to the crate, sandwiching the plastic to the crate.  Lastly I added a quick little hanger using a black twist tie glued on.
Tori loves it and it has plenty of room for all those ticket stubs she plans to add to her collection!
