*I received free admission to the venue in this post compliments of USFamily Guide, however all opinions expressed are my own.
Check it Out! I LOVE this time of the year! It's not for the presents either! I really love the spirit and the feelings of comfort from seeing the lights. I love to get the family in the car with hot chocolate and Christmas music and cruise around checkin' out the lights at night. If your a nut for lights like me, and you live in Georgia, your gonna wanna make a trip out to the Atlanta Motor Speedway and check out the Gift of Lights Atlanta!
From Nov 22 to Jan 4th you can check out what over 100 million lights at the famed Speedway look like!

There are hundreds of individual light displays in the 1.7 mile journey of lights! At one point you will even be driving on the Speedway itself! It's way cool!
There are so many unique displays and many of them are literally jumping over and around you as you take this drive-thru experience. You don't have to get out in the cold to enjoy these lights, you stay right in your vehicle so everyone stays warm, there is nothing to carry and you always stay together!
Just be sure and bring your camera though, cause there is so much to see! We just set the camera's to no flash and got some great shots. My son's came out better than mine, and he also took a video so we can watch it over and over.
They have a special radio station filled with the sounds of Christmas to make this journey even more special! I really liked driving through the curtain of lights and one of my fave displays is the snowman blowing the tree over! Here is a great pic my daughter got of it.
The Gift of Lights at the Atlanta Motor Speedway is open every night starting at 6 pm and the gates stay open until 9 pm except on the weekends when they stay open until 10 pm. We went last night, and I believe we were first in line, so we had no one in front or behind us, it was super cool! We could go as fast or as slow as we wanted! My kids loved it and I loved it as well! We live about an hour away from the track and it was well worth the trip, we had such a great time together.
This week they are holding the 11Alive Can A Thon event there as well and will be collecting donations. You can head over to http://www.giftoflightsatlms.com/ and get more info on the schedule of events that will be going on this month and check out all the sponsors too.
Don't forget that Check it Out! with Dawn readers can save an extra $2 off admission when you take advantage of this special coupon. GO HERE and print yourself one!
Have Fun & Safe travels!
