#TBCCrafters Thrilling Thursday Craft Hop - Zippered Icing Cup Container

Check it Out! About a month ago, I posted a cute Icing Cup Upcycle craft (you can GO HERE to check it out if you missed it) and I told ya'll then that I have a bunch of these little icing cups that come in Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll containers and that you may see another craft with them...well here it is!  A zippered icing cup container!  Made with just a few supplies and using hot glue, these little zippered containers can hold change, make-up or whatever!
Here is how I made it...

Supplies:
  • 2 icing cups
  • 1 7" zipper
  • Lace
  • cording
  • drill
  • hot glue

My first step was to put a hole in the center of one of the cups to hold the cording loop.  I have a tiny little hand drill that worked perfectly.  Threading the cord through the hole to form a loop, I then tied it off inside the cup to create a hanger.
I chose to add my zipper to the outside of the cups just because it was quicker but you could glue it to the inside as well.  With the zipper closed, start with the end and glue it down all around the cup until you reach the end.  I overlapped my ends so it created a continuous look.
Next unzip the zipper and the wrap the other side around the other cup.  Make sure to leave that little 1/16th of an inch at the top to allow your zipper to open and close easily.
Now zip it back up and glue a lace strip around the cup over the seam where the zipper meets the cup on both sides.  I left mine pretty plain, but I would have added some rhinestones and other embellishments to bling it up a bit, if I had them.

What I really like about crafts like this is that once you make one, the imagination is sparked and from there you can make more in different and unique ways!  You could add a split ring or other clip, instead of the cording.  You could also add a longer ribbon or strap to create a little purse like the one below...
