@Kia wants to know our Holiday Travel tips and traditions

Check it Out!  I can not believe that Thanksgiving is already next week!  Wow, it really creeped up on me this year and with our situation, it looks like I won't be cooking this year and we will be traveling to get some dinner!
So when we travel there are some essentials that we must have... #1 FOOD!  I don't know about your family, but snacks are always a winner!  #2 is each child gets a back pack and they can take what they can fit in the backpack to keep them occupied.  And #3 is moms bag, which is wher the band-aids, tums, things like that go and I try to have 1 little surprise for the ride, gum, candy, etc...
Kia wants to know about your holiday travels!  Do you have a secret to keeping the kiddos happy during a long drive?  Do you have any holiday traditions that involve travel?  How about some tips for new travelers?

  1. We always have several goody bags filled with snacks, games, movies, paper, coloring books, crayons, etc. As we stop at new rest stops or to eat we pull out another new bag. It keeps them interested and busy longer. They also get excited to see what's in the new bag.

  2. I always pack games and snacks!

  3. Thankfully our drive is not that long - about 2 hours. I usually try to get on the road first thing in the morning before anyone has had a chance to irritate anyone else and pack snacks, video games and books to keep them occupied.

  4. Luckily we don't have to travel for holidays, but I'd definitely want to ride in comfort if we did!

  5. I agree with you - food is definitely a must for keeping the kids happy! Haha. We also like books... things that don't make noise to annoy everyone else in the car, haha.
