Not only are lemons good for cooking, they are high in Vitamin C and because the juice in a lemon is 5% acid they have an antibacterial effect, which makes them powerful and environmentally friendly.

Lemons will stay good for up to a week when left out at room temperature and about 2 to 3 weeks when keep in the refrigerator. The lemon zest however will keep for months when frozen.
Before throwing your used lemon away, zest the peel and put it in ice cube trays with water and freeze and use them to add to tea, water or mixed drinks.

First let your lemons come to room temperature and then nuke them in the microwave for about 5 seconds and then roll the lemon on a hard surface with your palm.

After priming it, poke a fork or knife in the lemon and squeeze the needed juice out, then wrap with saran wrap or put in a baggie and keep in the fridge.

Well, not only are they edible and great for cooking, they can be used for everything from cleaning to beauty.
*keep wooden cutting boards clean and sanitized- rub down with a lemon cut in half and leave to soak for a few hours or overnight, then rinse well
*clean your copper pots without chemicals by using lemons cut in half and dipped in salt- rub onto pan and rinse well
*remove fish and garlic odors from your hands by rubbing them with lemon juice
*got some dingy whites? add 1/2 cup lemon juice to the rinse cycle and hang to dry for fresh smelling, bright whites
*put lemon juice in a spray bottle- use to repel ants aound the picnic table, grill or other areas you have problems with ants
*it's a great deodorizer too - add it to your vinegar solutions to neutralize the smell
*wanna highlight your hair naturally? while your in the sun, add lemon juice to your wet/moist hair for natural highlights
