Saying Goodbye to my Husband

This is my husband Delmar.  If you have been here before you have seen him in various pictures as he was always around to help me with testing products for my reviews.  Delmar and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this past September.  We were blessed to be able to go to his favorite place, Jekyll Island GA, to celebrate and to spend some much needed alone time together. This photo was taken on Driftwood beach.  It is truly a magical place and we had so much fun together.
Delmar has been battling Cancer for the last 2 years.  We found out he had stage 3 colon cancer one month after our home burned down.  It has been a long and grueling fight for him and on December 11, 2014, Delmar lost his battle.  He passed away at Abbey Hospice and is now my angel in Heaven.

This has been the hardest experience of my life and I am still adjusting to life without him. My comfort comes from knowing that Delmar is now pain free and perfect in God's image. There is no more pain, no more Cancer. He has his wings and he is FREE!
As a now single parent, I have been focusing on my children and taking care of my mother who is dealing with her own health issues.  We have been taking it one day at a time.
I apologize for my absence and the lack of posts.  I am in the process of getting myself and my blog back in order.  I will be catching up on reviews and posts as time allows and I hope that my fans and followers will hang in there with me! I want to introduce you all to new products, services and opportunities to spread kindness.  I have received so much support and experienced kindness from friends and family and I am determined to pay it forward.
Thank you all for Checkin' it Out with Dawn. Stay tuned and join me for this new year full of opportunities and blessings.

    1. Thank you. It has been an adjustment. After 25 years just the loss of his presence takes some getting used to. One day at a time!
