#TBCCrafters Thrilling Thursday Craft - Magnetic Neighborhood Contact List

Check it out!  We recently have begun steps to establish a neighborhood watch program in my neighborhood and the other night we had our first meeting.  Our neighborhood is small and since we are new, we moved in at the end of December, we still don't know all of our neighbors, so the idea of a neighborhood contact list came to mind as a little gift for me to take to our meeting.
Not only is it helpful for me, but for them as well.  It's an easy and quick way to be able to always have the info you need right there on the fridge!

Not having a lot of supplies to create with, my contact lists are fairly plain, but you could bling them up and customize them for your theme or decor. My supplies included cardstock, copy paper, die cut shapes and magnets.  I bought this clever magnetic vent cover for $1 a few months back and it is a solid sheet of magnet, so I used it.  So here is how I made them...

Step 1.  Using my MyMemories Suite software, I created a simple list using little house icons instead of numbers or symbols and a heading that says Our Neighbors.  I made them so that I could print 2 on a regular sheet of copy paper.
Step 2.  I then cut my 8 x 10 cardstock sheets and my lists in half, trimming the lists so the cardstock frames them.
Step 3.   I glued my list to my cardstock and attatched a cute little die cut shape to the tops.
Step 4.   Because I used the large sheet of magnet I cut large squares to adhere to the back.
Step 5.   Glue magnet on the back.  This had a shiny paper on it so I pulled off the shiny layer to get a rough surface for the glue to stick.

I have 10 neighbors so I made 10 and of course I had to share the Boogie love with them so they all got a little Boogie Goody bags!  They loved them and were all very glad to have this list!

  4. What a great idea. We don't have any kind of community connections here because we live in the middle of nowhere but it would be nice to know!
