Check it Out! I love thriller and mystery books, so whenever I get a chance to check out a new book and author I am all over it! I recently got the chance to check out a new to me author, Lorena Bathey. I received a complimentary copy of The X and let me start by saying, I received it Monday afternoon and had finished reading it by Tuesday afternoon! This is a great story that will hook you right from the first page. I love the main character Clarissa and her will to hold on to her kids through what can only be described as a nightmare!
What do you do when you wake up one day after 20 years of marriage and find yourself being served divorce papers, no warnings, no explanations? Well Clarissa Hadonfield didn't take it laying down, especially when she finds out that her X wants her boys and he is prepared to take them, because it turns out her X is not the man she thought he was. He is a sadistic power hungry stranger and Clarissa seeks out the weapons she needs to fight him. Learning karate and connecting with an ex FBI agent, Clarissa moves mountains to get her boys back. This truly is a story of a mothers love and what she will do when you mess with her kids.
This is a quick paced, well written book that is a fast and enjoyable read. 2 thumbs up!
