Future Friendly Friday!

shespeaks - I joined the Future Friendly Challenge. Will You?

Check it Out!  What have you been doing to be more Future Friendly?  This week's Future Friendly Challenge is in the Living Room and we have been doing a few things to become more green.  First we put all the electronics onto power strips that can all be shut down at night.  Did you know that your computer is still pulling electricity as long as it is on?  So turning it off completely at night can save $ over time!  We have a wireless internet router that also gets shut down at night as well as the TV, VCR and Wii.
We also decided to take at least 1 hour a day and make it a electronic free time.  No laptops, no DSI's, no MP3 players and no TV.  Books, drawing and board games are encouraged as well as outside time and just hangin' together!  We now use recycled paper to draw and make notes on and instead of making multiple copies for homeschool, we now just share the book and use a piece of notebook paper for the answers.  Then we can resell the book to get the new ones that we need!
Has your family taken the Family Friendly Challenge yet?  What are you doing to be more green?  GO HERE and check it out on Facebook and join the challenge!  I decided to sign my family up for the challenge for my kids sake, as I think about their future in this world, it is my responsibilty to teach them how to be more Future Friendly and now is the time.  Don't forget to come back next week for another Future Friendly Friday post!

**I receive info about the Future Friendly program via SheSpeaks, however all opinions are my own.
