Read it Forward

I love to read!  I love a good book and I love getting a good book Free even better!  Check out the Read it Forward Program from Random House.   You can go to http://read-it-forward.crownpublishing.com/ and choose from 3 books and enter for a chance to win a copy of one.  You can click on the book image to read an excerpt from the book to help decide which one to choose.  I found out about this program last month and I won a copy of Lisa Ungers novel "Fragile".  I was so excited because I have read her books before and have liked them all.  I liked Fragile as well but it wasn't my favorite- that would be "Black Out".

Fragile is a small town mystery about Maggie and Jones Cooper's complicated,busy lives and how they relate to their son Ricky and their community when there is a disappearance and murder in the Hollows.  I liked the diverse and totally believable characters that helped to uncover the mysteries and the buried secrets.

It is a good book and I hope to Read it Forward and pass my copy on to a friend who is interested in Reading it Forward too!

Swagbucks 101

My friends and family know that I love me some Swagbucks and I encourage you to join if you spend any time on the computer and you do searching.  At Swagbucks you can get paid for the searching you are already doing!  You earn Swagbucks which then can be redeemed for prizes and gift cards.  I just redeemed my first prize and I chose a $50 Amazon e-gift card.  All I had to do was go to Amazon.com, place my order, use my e-card code and tada, today my sons birthday gift arrived- completely FREE to me!  I have posted a photo of our unboxing below in the What's New? box.  With today's tough times, I am looking for ANY way to save a buck and free is even better.  So with that in mind Swagbucks TSG( The Swag Guy) announced today the addition of the New Swag Code Page, accessible through the Even More Page link at the Swagbucks.com homepage.  Here they explain how to get swagbucks and offer some great info, but I have some tips of my own that I have learned since I started using Swagbucks. So tip #1, download the toolbar, it helps you to remember to search using Swagbucks and you get 1 SB per day just for having it, and special Swag codes are released only in the Toolbar so it is worth downloading.  Tip #2, remember to log in daily or just stay logged on so you don't forget, you won't get credit for searching if your not logged in.  I have found that the first searches of the day will usually get you some SB's.  Tip #3, you can get 1 SB per day by visiting the Trusted Survey link ( you don't even have to do a survey), 1 for visiting the NOSO page, follow your "Swaggertunity" to get your free SB and  1SB per day for participating in the Daily Poll.  So with the Toolbar that is 4 SB's per day, which can add up to 120 SB's per month.  Tip#4, check the Swidget for new codes, if you don't have access to the Swidget it is at the bottom of this blog and you can check it whenever by clicking on the SC button.  SO, if you want to Check it Out! use the Swagbucks Banner link above and get you some Swagbucks too!

October is National Cookie Month!

Did you know that October is National Cookie Month?  I didn't, but I like it alot!  And Check it Out,
on October 1st, Great American Cookies is celebrating and giving away a Free chocolate chip cookie (limit one cookie per person) and all you have to do is visit a participating location.  AND, all throughout October if you donate a new or gently read book at the store you can recieve a Free cookie of your choice (limit one cookie per person per day)!  Sounds like a great idea, FREE cookies! Pinecone Research

Wow!  It really is Appreciation Day over at Swagbucks, they have released a bunch of codes today.  Of course I can't catch them all, but this one is in the Toolbar.  A great reason to download the toolbar and use it daily, these codes may show up at anytime!  This one is good until 3 am EST.  Good luck!

Sara Lee Mealtime is Fun promotion update!

Got a card in the mail today with a coupon for a free loaf of Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Bread and a nice note saying that the Toy Story Mealtime collectibles were depleted in record time and they regret to inform me that they cannot fulfill my orders.  Well, while it is nice to have a free loaf of bread, I did send in 11 proofs of purchases for 3 different items.  Very disappointing to not get what I ordered or get my proofs back!  Oh well, a new lesson learned.  Sometimes we don't always get what we order and companies don't usually ship back submissions.

I did it!

WOW!  I did it!  After talking about it for awhile I started my own blog!  I am not a great writer and have never been a journaler, but I love to make lists and I love to share great information, ideas and tips with other people.  I think I can figure out the whole blogging thing as I go along so we will see.
I am hoping to bring my new found readers a pleasant mix of Frugal Tips, Ideas, Info, Reviews and some Giveaways!  I love to try new products and share them with my family and friends so now I am extending that sharing to this blog!  I hope you will follow along and sign up to follow along with me on this site as well as social media!
